I Feel Left Out

Everyone else is doing this list and I actually kind of like it so I figured, why not...

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? A like a little of both but I guess I prefer wrapping paper.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial. The pine needles on a real tree are just too messy.

3. When do you put up the tree? Well... I decorated last year for the first time in ten years and it was really fun. But this year it ain't happening. The tree placement would get in the way of the Rock Band set up and that's just not right.

4. When do you take the tree down? Last year I took it down Christmas day.

5. Do you like eggnog? Eh... It's ok I guess.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I remember getting stir-up pants when I was younger and I loved them. However, my all time number one favorite gift ever received are my Sock Monkey slippers that my sister-in law, Anne, gave me two or three years ago. I actually screeched when I opened them. They are the bomb!
(Aren't they cute?!?)
My close second favorite gift would be the 'Cozy by the Fire' kit that she gave me last year. It included sock monkey pajamas, Apple Cider, a S'mores kit and a book by my favorite author. She puts so much thought into her gifts and seems to never get it wrong.

7. Hardest person to buy for? My dad!! I don't know when the last time was that I actually bought him a gift. I don't think he minds though. I think that as long as the whole family is together than he's happy as a clam.

8. Easiest person(s) to buy for? My niece and nephews.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? I did. It was my brothers, Jeff, that he got in Israel and I got to have it when he died. But the very nice people that ransacked and robbed my house took it when they took everything else that was of any importance to me. They were just nice like that.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? What the crap? Am I seriously supposed to be giving out Christmas cards?! Sorry folks, ain't gonna happen.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? We aren't going there.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? To be honest I really don't like any Christmas movies. I especially don't like the old-school Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer. That big snowman thing always kind of annoyed me... and kind of creeped me out too.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? November. I prefer to do it during the holiday season. It's more fun that way and it gets me in the mood for Christmas.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I don't think so. If I get a gift that is totally useless and not from my family or someone close to me than I usually just throw it away. What can I say? I'm just sentimental like that.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? I think I'd have to say Candy Canes.

16. Lights on the tree? Ok really? Who in the world wouldn't put lights on a tree? I LOVE Christmas lights!! I wish it were a law for everyone to put lights on their house every year. It's just so festive. But I seriously think that there are fewer and fewer houses every year that put them up :(

17. Favorite Christmas song? I always think I hate Christmas music but then I realize every year that I really don't. My all time favorite is O' Holy Night. But I'm feeling chatty so I'm gonna tell you some others I really like...
(in no particular order)
-Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree... Every time I hear it I think of Home Alone.
-Baby It's Cold Outside... it's just fun
-Feliz Navidad... It reminds me of Christmas in Hawaii ( Yes, I know, it's a Spanish song. But the first time I ever heard it was in third grade when my family went to Hawaii for Christmas)
-So This is Xmas (The War is Over)
-Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)... (I especially like the U2 version) A couple of years ago I was driving home from my parents house and was all sorts of upset because I had just found out my sister wasn't going to be coming home for Christmas. This song came on the radio and I burst into tears... but it's still one of my top fave. Actually, it's probably my second favorite.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? I'd have to say home. But if it were to travel go spend it with my sister or brother I could definitely be down with that.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Probably, but I don't really care enough to try.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? I really love a star. Or maybe a really pretty bow.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? When I was younger it was a tradition to open the family presents on Christmas Eve then get up early the next morning and open our presents from Santa. Now it's pretty much just Christmas eve.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? The screaming kids that come out in hoards, the ridiculous traffic in the mall parking lots, the large crowds, long lines, cheap people that argue about prices, and the crappy road conditions.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Greens, reds and gold. But greens, reds and silver is beautiful too... Ok, really it's my sock monkey theme I did last year. It was so cute, but not too over the top.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Ham

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Aveda Lip Saver Chapstick! Available at all Aveda Concepts Salons as well as the Aveda website (hint hint). Although, a new iPod dock/stereo whatever you call it thing would certainly be lovely. As well as some new quilt patterns, sewing machine needles, black socks, kitchen scissors....
