Twice Fried Donuts From Hell

This last week has been a week from hell. We’re not talking like the kind where a bunch of stupid little things happen through out the week. We’re talking like from 8:30 Monday morning nonstop to Saturday afternoon the crap just continued to fall. We’re talking job losses, 2 divorces, theft, lying etc. The sad thing is that 99.9% of the crap that happened didn’t happen to me. I know such an amazing group of people though and somehow we were all able to laugh our butts off through the whole week.

Anyway, to cheer ourselves up, the girls (Jana and Kara) and I decided to get together to play a little Rock Band (I really think that when we play this Jana pretends she's really in a stadium playing in front of all her fans) and make donuts.

Our donuts started out like this…

I left the oil on too high of a heat setting though so the outside got cooked faster then the inside. We were debating what to do when Jana said she knows how to make glaze (this was not a part of the conversation. She just likes to point out random things sometimes.). So, instead of going to the store to buy more dough like the average person would do, we decided to just brush off the cinnamon and sugar, put them back in the pan to cook a little more (yes I adjusted the heat), and then glaze them. It worked out beautifully and they were delicious!

Kara got a wild hair and made me put a Tootsie Roll in one. It turned out to be the best one.

Next time were making cream puffs! Well, that’s what we’re shooting for but I have a feeling that’s not what we’ll end up with.
